Fulham goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer has received his first Barclays player of the month award for February
Mark Schwarzer becomes the first Australian to win the player of the month award in the English Premier League. The 37-year-old goalkeeper has been in England since 1996 and it has taken fourteen years to win this award.
The Australian International becomes only the seventh goalkeeper in history to receive “The Barclays player of the month award” . This award will definitely be special as Mark Schwarzer is only the second player to win this award for Fulham. The first player to win the player of the month award is none other than former Manchester United striker Louis Saha, who won it back in 2001.
