Wigan Athletic has beaten Liverpool 1-0 at the JJB stadium
Liverpool suffered their ninth defeat of the season and are currently sixth in the Premier League. This defeat means Liverpool will need a miracle to qualify for the last fourth Champions League spot but with Aston Villa, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City fighting for the same position, the future looks bleak for Liverpool this season.
Hugo Rodallega scored his first goal since boxing day and that particular goal might be a very decisive goal for Wigan as they try to survive in the Premier League. Wigan have moved one place up (sixteenth position) above Wolves but with only three points separating the bottom six, it is going to be a fight for survival on the last day of the English Premier League.
