Arsenal beat Porto 5-0 to go through the quarter finals of the Champions League

Premier League club Arsenal have booked their quarter finals spot in this season’s Champions League with a 5-0 victory against Porto at the Emirates stadium in London. The Gunners go through 6-2 on aggregate.

Danish striker Nicklas Bendtner scored two goals within 25 minutes to give Arsenal the perfect start. Porto pushed for that important goal but failed to convert in many occasions.

In the 63rd minute a brilliant solo play by Samir Nasri earned Arsenal their third goal, which gave them some breathing space and three minutes later Porto was caught on the counter when substitute Emmanuel Eboue capitalized on an accurate pass by Andrey Arshavin.

Arsenal were awarded a penalty after Jorge Fucile brought down Emmanuel Eboue illegally in the box. Nicklas Bendtner made no mistake from the penalty spot as he completed his first hat-trick for Arsenal.
