A "Transfer window" in a lame mans world is nothing but a "registration period" in which players can join or be loaned to other clubs. Here are a few FAQ’s on the transfer window.
What is the Transfer Window?
The transfer window is a time period in which a football club can transfer (move) a player from club to the other. This is the time when all countries of different continents can strike a deal with a club so that a player can move from one club to the other.
What is a Transfer Fee?
A transfer fee is nothing but an agreement between the two clubs. If a player is on contract with a particular club but at the same time he gets an offer from another club and if the player wants to leave a transfer fee is settled upon by the two clubs.
What are the types of Transfers?
• Transfer Agreement ( In which club A has to play club B a transfer fee)
• Free Transfer (If a players contract has expired then he can join any club of a free transfer)
• Free Agent (Is similar to free transfer only difference is the player is not bound to any club at that point of time)
• Loan ( Club A can loan a player to Club B , only the daily wages will be paid by club B but he will still remain with Club A)
How many Transfer periods are there in a year?
There are two transfer periods in a year
• Summer (Pre-Season)
• Winter (Mid-Season)
Are the Transfer periods same for all countries?
No, all countries and continents have different length span for a transfer season. This is mainly due to the football leagues of all the continents do not take place at the same time of the years.
