Current coach of Newcastle United holds the highest number of goals scored with 260 in all. In 1988 Alan Shearer joined Southampton in which he scored 23 goals in 118 appearances. After four years with the club he moved on to Blackburn Rovers where he stayed for another four years where he scored 112 goals in 138 appearances. Newcastle United is where he spent majority of his time. He joined Newcastle United in 1996 and spent a decade at St James' Park. In second place is none other than Shearer Newcastle’s strike partner Andrew Cole. He scored 187 goals with chuck of his goals coming when he was in Manchester United where he won five Premier League titles and the ever famous 1998-99 UEFA Champions League when they beat Bayern Munich.
Arsenal Striker Thierry Henry clings to the third spot with 174 goals. He is the first player outside England to score more than 150 goals. Liverpool maestro Robbie Fowler takes the fourth spot with 163 goals. In 1993 Fowler was introduced to the Liverpool’s senior squad and he made a deadly combination with young Michael Owen. He scored majority of his goals with The Reds, 121 in all. On the fifth spot we have former Tottenham Hotspur’s striker Les Ferdinand. He always remained in England and played for eight different English clubs in his 20 years career. He was mostly recognized when he played for Queens Park Rangers as a youngster. His former team mate Teddy Sheringham fell short of just two goals with 147 with most of his goals scored with Tottenham Hotspur with 76 goals for the Spurs. In 1997 he joined Manchester United and is currently playing for Colchester United.
Michael Owen is the second player along with Robbie Keane who can add to their Premiership goals. So far the former Liverpool hit man has scored 144 goals in the English Premier League. He scored a staggering 118 goals for Liverpool and currently is in Manchester United where he will get a big opportunity to surpass Robbie Fowler (163 Goals). In Eight place we have Dutch striker Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink with 127 goals to his credit. He has played for many Premiership clubs like Leeds United, Chelsea, Middlesbrough and Charlton Athletic. Currently Hasselbaink plays for Football League Championship side Cardiff City.
Dwight Yorke makes the fourth Manchester United player to be featured in the top 10 goal scorers of the English Premier League. Ironically he has scored more goals in Aston Villa than in United. The 10th spot goes to the Republic of Ireland striker Robbie Keane who joined The Spurs in 2002 and formed a lethal combination with Dimitar Berbatov. Keane will definitely be keen on climbing the ladder and breaking the 150 mark this season.
